A one-day CPD event to help schools in and around Orpington, Kent increase the number of pupils in Year 6 achieving the Expected Standard in reading at the end of KS2.

This event is brought to you by Herts for Learning in partnership with Warren Teaching School Alliance This one-day CPD event will offer an insight into the transformational teaching strategies used in the 2017 /18 Herts for Learning KS2 Reading Fluency Projects which involved over 60 Hertfordshire schools and over 300 children.
The project draws on proven reading strategies to improve pupils’ trajectory towards the Expected Standard (EXS) in reading in Year 6, including:
Summary report In light of the EEF’s recent report analysing the attainment gap, Herts for Learning’s KS2 Reading Fluency Project could not be more relevant. During the eight week duration of the project, pupils in receipt of PPG funding made on average 29 months progress in reading comprehension (measured using the YARC test).
